Twin Metal Canopy Bed

A canopy bed is an ornamental bed considerably similar to a 4-poster bed. A typical cover bed usually features posts at each of the 4 corners extending 4 ft excessive or extra above the mattress. Ornate or decorative fabric is often draped across the higher area between the posts and a solid swath of cloth could create a ceiling, or cover immediately over the bed.

A 4-poster bed is a bed with 4 vertical columns, one in each nook, that help a tester, or higher (usually rectangular) panel. This tester or panel will usually have rails to allow curtains to be pulled across the bed. There are a variety of antique 4-poster beds extant relationship to the sixteenth century and earlier; many of these early beds are extremely ornate and are constituted of oak. An instance of such an early sixteenth-century 4-poster resides in Crathes Castle, which was made for the unique fortress house owners in the Burnett of Leys family.
